Welcome to Solitude n Silence.
Revised August 30, 2026.
There is a quiet path a lot of us end up walking sooner or later.
For me, it started in 2019. I got involved in local politics. My neighbor was a precinct chair. A wonderful person. He asked if I wanted to join him as his vice chair. I accepted and worked with him for a few years. Part of that was going to gatherings where the community came together to hear what was going on.
One night I went to one of those meetings and sat there while an elected school board member gave a report. After the meeting I came home nearly in tears, with a heavy heart. I told Tammie what I had heard. The books in the libraries. The gender stuff. A deviant, inappropriate focus being put on children. And not to mention, the suicide rate in the county schools was through the roof.
That evening I knew the problems we face in our schools, our communities, our state, and our nation were bigger than any human could handle. God was our only hope.
That's when I started getting up at five in the morning for an extended time of prayer and meditation. I sought God for our communities.
It's interesting how God works. It didn't take long. I started this prayer journey, and He began to bring to light some things in my own life that needed to change. I soon found out God was more interested in my character. That was the priority. He wanted to work on my heart. He wanted to change me.
It was during that early morning prayer that I came into a place like no other.
That is why I created this blog. I felt that still small voice wanting me to journal what I am learning in the quiet and share it with others. I also want to share some of the experiences from my early years, and memories Tammie and I have had over 47 years of marriage. Legacy stories. A record for our children and grandchildren.
This blog is not a political site. From time to time my views will lean conservative. That is just who I am. What you will find here falls into three places:
Prophetic Whispers. Things I feel the Holy Spirit is speaking to my heart.
Reflections on Family, Life and Faith. Stories from home, from the years Tammie and I have walked together, and from walking with the Lord.
America and the World We Live In. The larger picture around us.
At this time of my life I can only testify that God's mercies are new every morning, and He is faithful.
